Date: Thursday 18 March 2010........Words, despite their power to seduce and to persuade, are often overlooked on websites. How many sites are let down by poorly written copy that fails to grab the reader’s attention, fails to maximise the chances of being found in search engines and fails to deliver a real punch that will have potential customers reaching for the “buy now” button?

Developing a website takes both time and resource, but a good website is far more than clever graphics or lists of keywords. In this interactive workshop you will learn how to:

•	Structure your website for best effect
•	Write copy that draws readers in, rather than repelling them
•	Answer the “What’s in it for me?” question
•	Guide the journey through your website to increase your profitability
•	Encourage your customers to interact with you – and to return to your site
•	Recognise the differences between writing for your website, press release or brochure
•	Simple rules for writing effective copy

Who should attend? Anyone who has a website (or is setting one up) and wants to write copy that really pulls its weight

Date: Thursday 25 March 2010........PLEASE SPECIFY AM OR PM WHEN BOOKING
Time: 9:30-12:00 and 2pm – 4:30

The event will be run in two identical sessions – one in the morning and one in the afternoon

In these uncertain times every business needs to maximise opportunities for trading and for business development. Local authorities are among the biggest purchasers of goods and services in the sub-region, buying everything from buildings to paperclips and school meals to taxi services. In fact, you name it and the chances are that Local authorities will buy it.

Are you missing out on this valuable market? Perhaps you don’t know where to start or think it will be too difficult? These FREE presentations will explain the issues, highlight what you need to do to get on board, and give information about the help available to enable you to increase your opportunity to work with the public sector.

•	Understand how Local Authorities buy goods and services
•	Find and tender for local opportunities
•	Find out who has won larger contracts if you intend to sub-contract
•	Questions and Answers
•	Meet the Buyer

We will also be looking at what support there is for businesses, covering everything from finance to HR, and marketing to sales, and answering many of your questions, including:

•	What business support options are there?
•	It’s a minefield, where do I start?
•	Where can I get help for a specific problem?
•	Who can help me to make sense of all of the information I’m receiving?
•	How do I manage my way through the regulatory minefield?

We will have buyers from Local Authorities on hand throughout the day, plus The Chamber, the Federation of Small Businesses, Business Link and other support organisations

Please book early to avoid disappointment

Date: Wednesday 21 April 2010........The demands on managers & company owners, especially in these economic times, can make it difficult to remain abreast of the existing and new environmental legislation affecting companies.

To help in understanding their new responsibilities and to comply with these regulations & controls,
Warwickshire County Council are hosting a FREE Environmental Legislation Update & Resource
Efficiency seminar.

To help companies cope and put minds at ease, we have secured the services of a speaker from the Environment Agency who will brief local businesses on recent and pending environmental legislation, together with an update on key aspects of pertinent existing regulations.

Under Resource Efficiency, a speaker from Envirowise will explore Water Use Management, a topic which increasingly requires attention. We are all aware of the importance of using water efficiently, however what is not generally recognised is that many water saving projects can very quickly pay for themselves.

This Free seminar is being hosted by Warwickshire County Council in association with Business Link West Midlands and will be followed by a free buffet, and an opportunity for further discussions.
To reserve places at this seminar complete & either, fax back this form to 01926 412641,
Post to the above address or email Stephen Lewington (stephenlewington@warwickshire.gov.uk)
For more information or questions call Stephen Lewington or Roger Dick on 01926 414145
